MY THOUGHTS
This was excellent, I could not put it down. Fast-moving with the great Maddie Ives in action again, I was left wondering if they would get to the murder scene in time especially the last one as that was a bit of a shock as I was not expecting her to die. I think this is my favourite so far, it was a bit different and it kept me up half the night reading it. It keeps you hooked in all the time and I love that in a book, I am thinking that these gritty crime novels are my favourite to read now. I have gone off the romantic, love ones as they become a bit of the same after a while and you lose interest when you are single and happy. I am really looking forward to the next book and have heard from Charlie that it is probably going to be the last one in this series. How long can a series go on in books, do you think? I don’t actually think these have come to the end but I will wait until I have finished the next one which has just gone to the publisher for edits. Also if they are ever going on the TV then we would need many more books to make a great series.
The books are set in and around the fictional town of Langthorne. This is an area that is typical perhaps of many seaside resorts on England’s south coast: beautiful scenery, raw and rugged terrain and a dark underbelly.
